Oblivion
I was not winning any prize,
Nor taken by surprise,
Rather, grasped by a force
I could not resist,
Abducted unwillingly to assist
My forth-coming inevitable fate
To fall, to sink, on this date
Into oblivion.
Why then, do I wonder
That already now I’m forsaken,
Derelict and smitten
By a dark night, with no morrow,
And by my great sorrow?
Nor taken by surprise,
Rather, grasped by a force
I could not resist,
Abducted unwillingly to assist
My forth-coming inevitable fate
To fall, to sink, on this date
Into oblivion.
Why then, do I wonder
That already now I’m forsaken,
Derelict and smitten
By a dark night, with no morrow,
And by my great sorrow?
