The Rest of Our Lives
"Were the world and man indeed created in six days,
While, later, the first man lived nine hundred and thirty years
And the world – i.e. earth – has existed for at least 4.6 billion years?"
(DAVID STILLMAN)
If indeed two days ago it was the six day
-The day we were created,
And if yesterday, the Sabbath
The day our creator
Rested from all His work,
Was also the time of our maturity
And the day we become knowledgeable
Then today, Sunday,
From sunrise to sunset
Is the first day
Of the rest of our lives.
And tomorrow
Will be a day too late for us,
For it will be the time of our old age;
Not just an 'in-between' day,
But the day before we die
On the following day.
-The day we were created,
And if yesterday, the Sabbath
The day our creator
Rested from all His work,
Was also the time of our maturity
And the day we become knowledgeable
Then today, Sunday,
From sunrise to sunset

And tomorrow
Will be a day too late for us,
For it will be the time of our old age;
Not just an 'in-between' day,
But the day before we die
On the following day.
